Anyone interested? Navigational event for twinshock classics held in the Spanish Pyrenees.

http://www.loisontheloose.com/Twinshock ... inder.html

£55 entry if we get a team together before the end of April.

There is also this: http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/humm/ More competitive, same region, more expensive.

Interesting! The same people are behind both events. Lois and Austin lay out the course for the Horizons off-road event. I can thoroughly recommend the Horizons event as I've taken part in it for the last 2 years.
That's the same Austin who has been invited to the Stafford show by the way.

Just done some research - a ferry Plymouth to Santander return will cost £520 (£260 each) 2 people 2 bikes 1 cabin.

I'm sure if we can get a team of 4 together for the event (I'm thinking the twinshock trailfinder because I pretty much a novice) we can prob cut down the cost of the crossing. Theres also the option of reclining seats instead of cabins.

Why not work out a price for a large camper van and 4 persons , i have a large van and if we shared it would save some money , and if we had a woopsie we could get the bike back to the UK ...... just thinking at present

If we have a team of 4 Confirmed these are prices from Brittany ferries. (Plymouth - Santander)

4 bikes and 4 people 1 Cabin (4 people in one cabin)- £926.00 (£231.50 each)
4 Bikes 4 people 4 reclining seats - £752.00 (188.00 each)
Van (up to 6m long x 2.6 high) 4 People plus 4 Reclining seats - £654.00 (163.50 Each)
Van (up to 6m long x 2.6 high) 4 People plus Cabin (4 people in one cabin) - £828.00 (£207.00)

Obviously tis is assuming that all 4 bikes can fit on the van.

Otherwise we could probaly cross Dover calais and drive/ride down but if/when my holiday is approved I will need to be back for the 17th/18th september at the very latest. That could cost as much in petrol.

Have you checked the actual ferry dates suit. The Santander ferry only runs twice a week. It's a comfortable 2 day ride or drive down from St Malo, Caen or Roscoff.
I've also spotted it's cheaper to take a car and trailer with 2 bikes on it than 2 bikes on their own.
